The Tasmanian Housing Strategy was released in November 2023, as a 20-year strategy. The Tasmanian Housing Strategy Action Plan (2023-2027) was subsequently developed and released, and established a series of actions, enablers and measures of success.
The Tasmanian Housing Strategy’s Action Plan (2023-27) is the first of five plans that will drive the Tasmanian Government’s delivery of its vision to end homelessness in Tasmania.
This will require the scaling up of the building and construction industry. Newly constructed homes will increase housing density and infill residential development, to provide more housing options closer to jobs and community infrastructure, including public transport.
The first progress report for the Tasmanian Housing Strategy Action Plan (2023-27) provides a high-level outline of progress against each action and enabler to 30 June 2025 and provides a useful outline of the work being done to implement the Strategy.
